Life has a way of keeping us focused on what's next.
The next season. The next goal. The next answer to prayer. The next big milestone.
Before we know it, we've rushed through today while waiting for tomorrow.
I've learned that some of God's sweetest gifts aren't found at the finish line they're found in the ordinary moments we often overlook. A conversation with a friend. A quiet morning with coffee and God's Word. A beautiful sunset. A random field of sunflowers. A kind smile from a stranger. Time spent with family. The opportunity to encourage someone who simply needs to know they're not alone.
Joy isn't found in having a perfect life. It's found in recognizing God's presence in the life we're living today. I have found that in the hard seasons, looking at ways to encourage others is actually the best way to help me get through.
Some seasons are filled with celebration, while others stretch our faith. But both have purpose. God is just as present in the waiting, the growing, and the ordinary as He is in the mountaintop moments.
This month, instead of rushing ahead, pause long enough to notice His goodness. Celebrate small victories. Thank Him for today's blessings. Look for opportunities to bless someone else.
Joy grows when our hearts learn to notice what God has already placed right in front of us.

A Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of today. Forgive me for the times I become so focused on what's ahead that I miss the blessings You've placed in front of me. Open my eyes to see Your goodness in the ordinary moments and fill my heart with lasting joy that comes from knowing You. Help me be an encouragement to others and remind me that every step of this journey has purpose because You are walking with me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
