Sinus Herbal Steam

Did you know that viruses live in our respiratory system? The reason why is because we intake air causing the respiratory tract to be cooler temperatures. This is the perfect environment for viruses. When the body senses an infection, it will often times react with a fever. We can mimic this in viruses by using steam. The steam brings warmth into the respiratory system, making the environment inhabitable for the virus.

Simply boil a medium pot of water. Do not add the herbs yet! Remove the pot and set it in a safe area. Create a tent over the pot with a towel, lean over the pot with the towel over your head. Add the herbs. We want the initial steam in our respiratory system, that is where some of the essential oils are diffused. This is why you cover a pot of tea, so the oils will stay in the tea and not be taken away by the steam. Breathe in the steam for 10-15 minutes.
